Daily Mood Quote

Daily Mood Quote
Day 67 - July 9, 2011

When you do find humor in trying times, one of the first and most important changes you experience is that you see your perplexing problems in a new way - you suddenly have a new perspective on them.
~ Allen Klein
One of the things we tend to forget when times are toughs is to laugh. When you laugh, it allows you to view things from a different perspective and sometimes through that laughter, what was once perceived as a challenging problem can now be viewed with a solution in mind. There is a great old quote: “Laughter is the best medicine” (thank you Reader’s Digest) and it really is.
Yesterday, my family and I took a lengthy car trip and during this trip we got a flat tire. We were too far to turn home and only halfway to where we were headed. Remember “sh*% happens?” well, there it is again, but we looked at the positive things. First, it was the passenger side front tire and we were able to get the car stopped without incident. We were able to stop in a place that was out of the line of traffic and huge trucks. Last, it wasn’t a horrific temperature and there was light breeze. Also, the kids got to learn about how to not panic when things go suddenly awry and to change a tire. We resumed our trip about 20 minutes later with a donut on the car and without further incident. We laughed about donut driving and continuing on to our destination.
Life will always throw those things at you, especially when you’re not prepared for them. The main goal of the trip was for all of us to enjoy ourselves and leave behind the issues we are dealing for a while. Sometimes, you have to take those perspective days in order to maintain good mental health.

Daily Mood Quote - May 5, 2011

Daily Mood Quotes:
Day One - May 5, 2011

"Everyday is a winding road" ~Sheryl Crow

Even if you know where your going and you have a plan to get there, sometimes the path is more interesting and challenging than you could ever imagine.

Two days ago, all our problems seem so far away (yes, it's a Beetle's song) the phone didn't ring, no problems in school, the weather was nice and everything seemed to be perfectly in sync.

Yesterday, what a difference a day can make… A long and contentious meeting, which I had to leave early, because I got nauseous and light headed. That's happen sometimes when decisions are made (or not made in some cases) by committees.

Then, we found out we are being sued over a bill we had no idea even existed. So much for having health insurance (pissed money down a well for health insurance that doesn't cover anything, big surprise….not) I am stunned, I've got to lied down (thank you Die Hard 2).

When our children came home from school, we found out our daughter is being sexually harassed. Are you kidding me, with all the education and training available today, some (teenage boys) are still sexually harassing people. Unbelievable.

Well, at least the dog made it outside to throw up. Yeah!!! This was the high point of the day.
